Chronology of the TDF
1903: first Tour de France(TDF).
1905: suppression of the stages of night; first relief with the program: the balloon of Alsace.
1906: the course crosses a border, Franco-German in fact.
1907: the Turn made for the first time stage out of France: Metz, then in German territory.
1910: first passage in the Pyrenees
1911: first passage in the Alps.
1919: creation of the yellow jersey.
1923: creation of the allowances on arrival.
1926: first departure of the Turn in province (Evian).
1928: creation of the French regional teams within the Turn.
1930: creation of the national teams within the Turn; creation of the advertizing Caravan.
1937: Jacques Goddet succeeds Henri Desgrange as director of race.
1947: first stage completely disputed abroad with Brussels-Luxembourg
1948: creation of a daily revenue for the carrier of the yellow jersey.
1949: the Turn passes for the first time to Italy and Spain.
1951: first climbing of the Ventoux mount.
1952: first arrival at the top; first rise of Puy de Dôme.
1953: creation of the price of the sprinters and the green shirt.
1954: first departure of the Turn given abroad (Amsterdam).
1962: return to the teams of marks; Felix Lévitan becomes director of race.
1964: strictly regulated until there, the exchange of bicycle is authorized.
1967: return to the national teams; creation of the prolog; last arrival with the Park of the Princes.
1968: ensured since 1919 by the organizers, the supply in race by the sporting directors is authorized.
1969: return to the teams of mark.
1970: creation of the price of the young people (white shirt).
1974: the course of the Turn passes by England.
1975: creation of the shirt with the pea for the best climbing one (challenge created in 1933); first arrival on the Fields-Élysées.
1987: the Turn counts 25 stages, record of the kind; Felix Lévitan leaves his functions of director of race.
1998: creation of the motor bike-supply in race. Business Feasted.
2003: port of the obligatory helmet during all the race, except for the final rise. Centenary of the Turn.
2004: port of the obligatory helmet during all the race, including the final rises of the stages of mountains.
